Sophie had always imagined a home filled with thriving plants, but every one she brought home eventually faded.

Her partner, Ben, knew there had to be a better way. With a background in biology and technology, he set out to find it, making caring for living things feel simple, not stressful.

Many prototypes later, and countless very patient houseplants, SmartyPlants was born: a small, smart sensor that lets your plants tell you what they need.

When Ben launched the idea on Kickstarter, more than 1,500 people from 49 countries backed it in just 30 days, proving that Sophie wasn’t alone in her struggle.

Today, SmartyPlants is still a small team with a big belief: that technology can help people feel more confident, connected, and proud of the spaces they create.
